Weekend Tour and Baloon Festival – the Perfect Rest in Essentuki!
A vibrant balloon festival will be held as a part of the celebration of the 200th anniversary of Essentuki at the end of August. The baloon festival will be a highlight of the feast.
It will take place on August 27 — 31, and is going to offer spectators a really eventful program. The pinnacle of the event will be a traditional evening glow of balloons at the city lake, where dozens of aerostats will light up to musical accompaniment, creating a breathtaking spectacle.
Besides, balloon pilot competitions, picturesque flights over Essentuki and nearby towns of the Caucasian Spas, as well as different contests, show programs, workshop sessions, sports competitions and fairs will be held for five days.
Detailed flight and glow schedule:
- August 27 and 28: evening (August 27), morning and evening (August 28) flights over the towns of the Caucasian Spas.
- August 29: morning flights over the towns of the Caucasian Spas, and at 20:00 there will be a enchanting night glowing of hot air balloons on the lake shore. Twelve balloons will perform a «light and music dance» in tune with the compositions of the symphony orchestra.
- August 30: morning and evening flights over the towns of the Caucasian Spas.
- August 31: closing morning flights, and at 20:00 there will be final night glowing of hot air balloons with music accompaniment by a symphony orchestra.
20 crews are expected to take part in the festival. The organizers say this is a record number of participants in the history of the festival.
