Terrenkurs of Yessentuki
Any person who cares about his/her health knows that walking a few thousand steps a day is always a good idea. Regular physical activity can help prevent many diseases.
That is why walking became a common practice of treatment in Yessentuki. Doctors agree that walking to the mineral water spring and back in any sanatorium is a recommended minimum of motor activity for vacationers. When you move, all important processes in your body are activated and this enhances the absorption of beneficial substances from the taken mineral water.
Terrenkur is a special method of «terrain treatment». This method was suggested by German physician Max Joseph Oertel in the 1880s. He believed that cardiovascular diseases are more effectively managed thanks to outdoor physical activity.
Taking into account his recommendations, such therapeutic pathways began to appear in the resort parks of the Caucasus Mineralnye Vody. Spa doctors note that drinking mineral waters and walking in favorable climate forms the best conditions for recovering and maintaining our health.
The rugged terrain was used in designing of terrenkurs in Yessentuki. These terrenkurs are circular: they start and end at the pavilion of therapeutic gymnastics, pass near mineral springs, balneotherapy centers and entrance gates of the park.
