Hands that bring mechanisms back to life. Interview with a specialist in the operation and maintenance of ventilation and air conditioning systems

Today we are talking with a specialist in the operation and maintenance of ventilation and air conditioning systems working at the Kazakhstan Resort House.

Please welcome Alexander Gennadievich Krylov, he will tell us about his profession.

— Tell us how long have you been working at the Kazakhstan Resort House?
— I have been working here for 27 years. This is not just a job, but a very interesting and, I would say, vital matter.

— Why did you choose this profession?
— When I was a child, I was given a construction set, and I was fascinated with it. Since then, I’m fond of mechanisms, to understand how they work, and to be able to repair them.

— Are you happy with your choice?
— Absolutely! I feel that I am useful, and this is very important. I know that my enterprise needs me.

— Was it difficult to master your profession? What education should you get for this?
— I have a higher education majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I have to study constantly, even after so many years. New devices, new technologies appear. You must know physics, chemistry, and mechanics to be a good mechanic.

— Does a person who has decided to become a specialist in this field need any special qualities and skills?
— The most important thing is love for your work and responsibility! You also must be attentive, balanced, and perform your work clearly. Not only does the mechanism work, but the safety of people depend on this.

— What difficulties do you face in your work?
— If you love what you do, difficulties go by the wayside. It’s just tasks that you have to solve.

— What is the most interesting part of your work?
— Every day brings something new. It is especially great when you manage to find and fix a malfunction. You feel like a real detective!

— Does your profession allow you to reveal your creative abilities, to prove yourself?
— Of course. Sometimes you have to figure out how to make the necessary spare part yourself, make drawings. This is real engineering work!

— Did your childhood dream of a future profession come true?
— Not really. I dreamed of being a design engineer. But I think that without specialists in my field it is impossible to do!

— How useful and important is your profession for our country?
— Taking into account the current import substitution, my profession is really necessary. We need such professionals everywhere: in factories, plants, in agriculture, in science. You can’t do without us. Our profession is among the most in demand for a reason.

— To whom could you recommend your profession?
— To everyone who likes technologies, who is interested in how everything is arranged and works.

— What would you like to warn those who are going to get the same profession as you?
— Safety precautions are the most important thing! You must always be attentive and careful.

— Do you remember the first mechanism you fixed?
— I remember the first mechanism I broke. However, I can’t remember all the ones I fixed.

— What tools do you use in your work?
— Regular locksmith’s tools. We have everything: from regular screwdrivers and wrenches to modern digital and laser devices.

— What related professions did you have to master over such a long period of work?
— I had to become a bit of a welder, an electrician, an instrumentation engineer. Everything is interconnected in our work.

— Have you received any awards for these years of work?
— Yes, the Kazakhstan Resort House has repeatedly awarded me with certificates of honor. It’s nice.

— What would you like to wish for boys aged 7-11?
— I will answer this question with a quote from the film «Queen of the Gas Station»: «I did not betray my dream, I just changed it.» Study well, study all subjects. The more you know, the more opportunities you’ll have. And don’t be afraid to dream!

Thank you, Alexander Gennadievich, for an interesting story! Your dedication to the profession is an example to follow. We wish you continued success in your future endeavors!
