World Pneumonia Day

Every year on November 12, World Pneumonia Day is celebrated. The holiday was created by joint effort of international governmental and private organizations, foundations and activists. Its purpose is not only to educate the public, but also to attract the attention of statesmen, medical specialists and citizens – potential donors to the problem of pneumonia.

The Kazakhstan Sanatorium has developed a special program for the rehabilitation of patients who have had pneumonia and coronavirus infection – “Rehabilitation after COVID-19”.

The program is designed for 14 and 21 days and includes:

  • Reception by a general practitioner and specialty physicians;
  • Clinical and biochemical blood tests;
  • Primary screening system on the MSPRO machine;
  • Electrocardiography;
  • Mineral water intake three times a day;
  • Diet therapy;
  • Metabolic correction of intestinal microbiocenosis;
  • Reception of oxygen cocktails and phytococktails;
  • Medicinal baths;
  • Therapeutic showers;
  • Manual massage;
  • Hardware physiotherapy;
  • Sessions in a speleological chamber;
  • Inhalations;
  • ENT procedures;
  • Swimming in the pool;
  • Therapeutic exercise;
  • Terrenekur.

As a result of the program, drainage functions of the bronchi is improved, tolerance to physical activity is restored, intestinal microbiocenosis is normalized, the immune system is strengthened.

Also for the rehabilitation of patients who had pneumonia and coronavirus infection, the Sanatorium successfully uses oxygen therapy – a method of treatment with oxygen. The procedure is performed in a special oxygen chamber (“o2one – H810”, Korea). This method increases the oxygen saturation of the lungs considerably and restores their normal function.
