Creative Meeting to mark the International Day of Older Persons

On the eve of the International Day of Older Persons, a creative meeting on the preservation of health and prolongation of active life was held in the Kazakhstan Sanatorium.

Ex-minister of Health of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic (1987-1990), Talapkali Abishevich Izmuhambetov, whose acute intelligence and clarity of judgment on the eve of his 80th birthday go far beyond those of many young people, will share his experience and knowledge with visitors!

He said that every man by nature has a resource for 120 years of life. The main thing is to maintain health. To be healthy, “we mustn’t spoil anything”, Talapkali Abishevich says. A long and healthy life, in his opinion, depends on four main factors:

  1. Nature of nutrition. “You are what you eat,” says a well-known proverb. Talapkali Abishevich advises to replace beef and mutton with poultry and horsemeat, eat more fish, vegetables and fruits, reduce sugar consumption, and reduce portions of dishes.
  2. Movement. Izmukhambetov advises to walk as much as possible.
  3. Good quality sleep.
  4. Mental activity. “It is necessary to use your brain,” as Talapkali Abishevich says. This means that the brain needs to be constantly busy learning something new. He especially advises to learn languages, play chess and do crosswords.

At the end of the meeting, Talapkali Abishevich wished everyone present good health and positive thinking. We echo the words of our guest and thank him for his interesting and useful report.
