Sports and Health Centre of the Kazakhstan Sanatorium
Dear guests and residents of the resort city of Yessentuki, we offer you to go on a small introductory tour of the Sports and Health Centre of our sanatorium. Nowadays this complex includes a swimming pool, SPA procedures (cedar barrel, SPA-wrap and vacuum-roller massage), gym and physiotherapy.
Let’s start with the highlight of our Centre — a large indoor pool stylised as a Kazakh yurt. The unique and harmonious round shape and domed roof combined with the elements of gold and turquoise shades of the water element in the design create a sense of unity, peace and pleasing to the eye. The pool is 22 metres in diameter. The displacement of our pretty pool is 500 tonnes. There is an area for children, a hydromassage unit, a cascading shower, and an ascending massage slide. The water goes through a purification system on a regular basis. The swimming pool is rightly considered the best and awaits all comers in its watery embrace. For outpatients it is obligatory to have a certificate from a general practitioner or a dermatovenerologist.
The second stop is cedar barrel. It is a great way to warm up and prepare the body for procedures. Steaming takes place inside the barrel at a temperature of 40-42 degrees for 15 minutes. The temperature of steaming is selected individually for each patient, based on health condition and doctor’s recommendations. In a cedar barrel the body is exposed to hot steam filled with natural herbal extracts. This keeps the skin moisturised and cleansed, pores open and harmful substances out of the body. The wood actually «breathes» by absorbing and expelling moisture. Cedar barrel favourably affects the pores, skin turgor, its firmness and elasticity. After the procedure, it’s easy to feel reborn and renewed.
Then we suggest to look into the rooms of SPA procedures. The programme includes a relaxation session on a Thermo Spa massage bed. The massage bed allows you to enjoy the feeling of weightlessness. During the procedure, 20 jets of water are sprayed on the body without contact, which has an additional massage and lymphatic drainage effect. Relaxing music is played during the session. At the beginning of the SPA-procedure there is scrubbing with professional cosmetics and application of cosmetic mask-wrapping on the body. The procedure is completed by applying an anti-cellulite cream.
In the newfound state of weightlessness and flight you can proceed to the next SPA procedure called vacuum-roller massage on the device of the French company Starvac. The work is done with 4 different kinds of cups. With the first cup we’re working on the lymph nodes zone by zone. The second cup is used to work the outer part of the thigh. Double suction cups work all over the body. During the final stage, the roller smoothes everything out. Starvac gives anti-cellulite and lymphatic drainage effects.
Lastly, let’s take a look at our gym. The gym is 325 m2 and equipped with modern multifunctional fitness equipment and treadmills. Here you can attend group and individual therapeutic exercise sessions conducted by a qualified instructor.
