Speleotherapy: how a salt cave helps to cope with lung diseases

Speleochamber is similar to a natural salt cave. During the treatment, visitors are in a room with a specific microclimate which has healing properties. The chamber is lined with special pressed blocks of Saki salt from the Black Sea, and the floor consists of Himalayan salt blocks. There is an air corridor between the layer of salt blocks and the walls where air circulates. It is saturated with healing ions when it passes through the salt blocks.

In addition, a stream of purified air saturated with highly dispersed salt aerosol particles is fed into the room with the help of a halogenator.

Due to the presence of negative air ions the air in the speleochamber can have a beneficial impact on the entire bronchopulmonary system.

Speleotherapy has a great therapeutic effect if you suffer from some form of lung disease — salt inhalation accelerates removal of sputum from your bronchi. The procedure is also useful if you have various types of allergies, some skin diseases (neurodermatitis, eczema, psoriasis). Air with increased ionization has a beneficial effect on the immune system, relieves stress and fatigue, and also calms the nervous system.
