A new method of treating patients with diabetes mellitus in the Kazakhstan Sanatorium
According to the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), as of 2023, the number of people suffering from diabetes is more than 500 million. That’s about 10% of all people between 20 and 79 years old. Up to 643 million people are expected to be diagnosed with and treated for diabetes by 2030.
The Kazakhstan Sanatorium has specialized in the treatment of metabolic diseases since its creation. The resort has more than 40 years of experience in rehabilitation of patients with diabetes.
The new method of Combined Effect of Balneofactors and Oxygen Therapy in Complex Sanatorium Treatment of Patients with Diabetes Mellitus was introduced in the Sanatorium in 2023.
The proposed method of treatment includes diet therapy, treatment with the Yessentuki-4 mineral water, carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide baths, massage, therapeutic exercise and oxygen therapy in an oxygen chamber.
The uniqueness of the method lies in the combination of natural healing factors of the region and modern scientific developments. The O2one — H810 oxygen chamber is used in the rehabilitation process. During oxygen therapy sessions, the patient’s blood is saturated with oxygen, which activates the body’s cellular repair process. In the course of the procedure, the microcirculation of the blood increases and its biochemical indicators improve.
Therapy promotes the restoration of disturbed metabolic processes, weight loss and improvement of health.
Health resort treatment has a positive effect on diabetes mellitus, improves the functional state of the kidneys, cardiovascular system and gastrointestinal tract. Mineral water drinking treatment, nutritious diet, properly chosen physical activity in combination with oxygen therapy creates a synergistic effect in the treatment process.
The method is recommended by the Pyatigorsk Research Institute of Balneology.
