International Friendship Day
Today the whole world celebrates the Day of Friendship, designated by the UN General Assembly resolution in 2011.
This holiday is also of great importance for the Russian Federation, where representatives of more than 200 ethnic groups and different religious confessions such as Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Judaism, etc. live together.
The resolution especially emphasizes the importance of the holiday in strengthening friendly relations between different nations.
‘Friendship between peoples, countries, cultures and individuals can inspire peace efforts and provide an opportunity to build bridges between communities that honor cultural diversity,’ the document says.
Dear friends, on this wonderful day we wish you to maintain good relations with those people who accompany you through life. Mutual support in all situations is something that cannot be replaced. Also thank you for staying with us and let our friendship only get stronger from year to year!
