History of the Kazakhstan Sanatorium
The Kazakhstan Sanatorium has a rich history. Here are some interesting facts about our health resort.
History of our Sanatorium dates back to 1969. That year it was decided by the members of the Fourth Head Department of the Ministry of Health of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic to convert the three-storey building of the state villa into a small sanatorium with 50 beds called the Kazakhstan Sanatorium.
Large-scale construction of the main sanatorium building with 200 beds began in 1971. At the same time, a medical block, a swimming pool and a bedroom block were under construction. Construction crews were sent from the Republic of Kazakhstan.
First guests of a new sanatorium-and-health-resort complex arrived on April 5, 1977.
The Sanatorium had the status of a high-security facility for a long time. Among the Sanatorium’s guests were party officials of the Republic of Kazakhstan: D.A. Kunaev, the First Secretary of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan, President Nursultan Nazarbayev and members of the governments of the CIS countries. The Sanatorium opened its doors to everyone in 1997.
In 2008, a complete reconstruction and modernization of the Kazakhstan Sanatorium began under the order of Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It ended on September 01, 2012. Due to its radical renovation the health resort has greatly expanded its opportunities and services while maintaining a consistently high level of spa treatment.
Under the guidance of professionals in their field, the Kazakhstan Sanatorium has been among the best health resorts of the Caucasus Mineralnye Vody for many years.
