Caucasian Mineral Waters Events
On January 29, a number of events will be held on the territory of the Caucasian Mineral Waters on the 160th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian writer A.P. Chekhov.
On the Yessentuki city lake, We Read Chekhov Everywhere event will be held. The winter swimming club conducts a swimming race dedicated to the writer’s anniversary. There will be a themed stand, members of the club will read their favorite quotes right from the city lakes.
The library branch №2 of the city of Essentuki will host Writing on the Theme of Love literary evening. At the event, there will be people reading excerpts from the works The House with the Mezzanine, The Lady with the Dog, The Cherry Orchard, poems by R. Rozhdestvensky It All Begins with Love…, B. Pasternak A Candle Burned on a Table…, B. Akhmadulina Romance of the Romance. The romances by P. I. Tchaikovsky Do not tempt me needlessly and Again, as before, alone will be heard.
Fortress Kislovodsk Museum of Local History will hold the historical and cultural program A. P. Chekhov in the Caucasus. Senior researcher of the museum will tell about the writer’s stay in the Caucasus. And as part of this program, there will be opened a new exhibition dedicated to the 160th anniversary of the birth of Anton Pavlovich Chekhov.
