Clinical and diagnostic laboratory in the sanatorium «Kazakhstan»
Clinical diagnostic laboratory
Clinical diagnostic laboratory is equipped with cutting-edge diagnostic technologies which have raised identification of existing disorders to a whole new level through the implementation of recent investigational parameters. The acquired information is interpreted by specialist physicians who can detect occult illnesses with high credibility, as well as tailor adequate therapy and elaborate maintenance procedures in chronic conditions. A wide range of tests is available at the laboratory including:
- blood tests (17 parameters)
- blood and urine chemistry (low-molecular nitrogenous matters, pigments, lipids, enzymes, acute-phase proteins, macro-and microelements)
- laboratory pancreatic endocrine function tests and diabetes examination
- laboratory thyroid, reproductive hormone control, pituitary-adrenal function and androgen function tests
- sperm tests
- tumor markers in venous blood by EIA
- detection of urogenital infection including occult one
- helminth antigen by immunoenzymatic assay.
- Helicobacter pylori total antibodies by immunoenzymatic assay
- Helicobacter pylori by Pap smear.
Most of the examinations are available on an urgent basis within a few hours.
Specialist interpretation is added to each examination.
Functional diagnostics
Precise diagnosis makes treatment successful while the false one can bring the doctor’s efforts to naught. Diagnostic methods are important for treatment follow-up and objective treatment response assessment. The following procedures are available:
Electrocardiogram (ECG) is a diagnostic tool to detect the functional state of the heart, the most crucial part of the human body.
Holter ECG monitoring makes it possible to diagnose arrhythmia and myocardial ischemia; to assess therapeutic efficacy allowing for preventive follow-ups in patients with life-threatening arrhythmias, and to determine prognosis of the condition.
Spirometery helps to assess functional state of mechanical properties of human ventilation system, identify bronchopulmonary changes, and assess therapeutic efficacy.
Ultrasound examinations
Ultrasound diagnostics (US) by Toshiba Aplio MX (Japan) and Samsung (Korea) expert class systems detects abdominal, renal, bladder, thyroid, mammary, pelvic, cardiac, lower and upper extremity arterial examinations.
Endoscopic examinations
Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGDS) is an examination to assess stomach, esophagus and duodenum which can be recommended to anyone who have complaints about changed appetite, nausea, burp and abdominal upper pains. This examination helps to establish potential inflammation, erosions, ulcers, polyps, etc. and identify Helicobacter pylori, a bacteria dwelling in gastric mucosa which can cause a number of conditions.
Colonoscopy is used for evaluation of gastric inflammatory disorders, diverticulosis, neoplasms and other conditions. Precise diagnosis is instrumental for adequate treatment at Sanatorium and recommendations for the patient to adhere to when he is back at home.
Proctosigmoidoscopy combines instrumental examinations of the rectum which can diagnose external and internal hemorrhoid, rectal fissures and inflammations.
